A Want So Wicked is the sequel to A Need So Beautiful. It continues the tale of the Forgotten who help people have hope and salvation while battling the pull of the Shadows. The Forgotten in this story is Elise who becomes torn between Abe, her handsome coworker, and Harlin, the strange motorcycle rider who is new in town.
I was disappointed in the direction that Young took the storyline. I think it would have been stronger by being told from Harlin’s point of view. Maybe more about his training and how he keeps going after the loss of Charlotte. And why recycle an old character?
What did this book have to do with my faith? There are a couple of evil characters in this book who seem beyond the ability to be saved. But I don’t believe anyone is really beyond being saved. I think that is up to God. I understand that scripture quotes Jesus saying that only those who reject the Holy Spirit will be beyond saving. But what does that mean, exactly? I am just going to leave the final judgment up to God.
I am not sure I can recommend A Want So Wicked but the first one was so good — if you read it, then go ahead and let me know what you think.
